About the Maxwell

Est. 1992, The Maxwell Intercollegiate Golf Tournament has become a mainstay on the college golf schedule. Co-hosted by the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University, this tournament is the final tune-up before the NCAA Regional Championships and annually features many of the nation's top teams.

This tournament is considered to be one of the best events every year with strong community support, according to participants.

"I think this tournament is so important," said tournament director, Bob Bramlett, "because it has become as sense of pride for our entire community in the fact that we, as a small town in southern Oklahoma, can put on a golf tournament on a regular basis where many of our teams go on to the national tournament. And several have won the nationals after play in The Maxwell."

The tournament gives golf coaches a change to gauge their team's performance as they prepare to enter postseason play.

In the past, The Maxwell has been a unique collegiate golf tournament because it has been televised both on a national and local level. The tournament has also drawn national media coverage from USA Today, Kansas City Star, Dallas Morning News, Los Angeles Times and Golfweek magazine.
